The origin of the communiqué from CP – Comboio de Portugal is the strike called by the unions SINFA, ASCEF, ASSIFECO, FENTCOP, SINFB, SIOFA, STF, STMEFE, SINAFE for the 27th of February and 1st of March and by the SNTSF for the 28th February and March 2nd.

For this reason, the company warns that "there will be severe disturbances in the movement of trains, nationwide, in the period between 00:00 on the 27th and 23:59 on the 2nd of March 2023", adding that minimum services have been decreed for February 27 and March 1, 2023.

Customers who have already purchased tickets for the Alfa Pendular, Intercidades, as well as for the International, InterRegional and Regional services, can request a refund "for the total amount of the ticket purchased or its free revalidation for another train of the same category and in the same class".

The same information from CP also adds that the refund can be requested at ticket offices or through the cp.pt website, by filling out an online form, sending the scan of the original ticket, as well as indicating the name, address , IBAN and NIF, up to ten days after the end of the strike.

Tickets can be revalidated free of charge at the ticket offices or via myCP, if purchased online or through the CP application, up to 30 minutes before the departure of the train from the customer's home station.
