In a statement, the ministry of Ana Mendes Godinho states that the payment, by bank transfer, is made “to all households benefiting from the social tariff for electricity and minimum social benefits, in a global amount of 90 million euros”.
"This is an extraordinary measure, created to support the most vulnerable families in the face of rising costs arising from inflation", says the ministry.
In the statement, the MTSSS recalls that the first payment was made on April 20 and the next ones will be made in August and November.
“It means that all these households will receive a total amount of 360 euros in 2023”, adding the appeal for those who have not yet done so to update their bank identification number on the Social Security Direct page.
This support is intended for families residing in Portugal who are beneficiaries of the Social Electricity Tariff (TSEE), according to information available on the Social Security website.
So how many families are there in total?

Most EU countries take pride in their advancements in social justice and closing the gap between rich and poor; Portugal take pride in their poverty and keeping people uneducated and poor.
