Team Ireland received a hero’s welcome on their return to Dublin Airport following the Special Olympics in Berlin.

The Games saw 330 thousand people attend and watch 190 countries competing across 12 sports, for which Ireland sent a team of 73 athletes. In the end, they came home with a total of 24 gold medals, 22 silvers and 29 bronze.
