“This is a large-scale festival and the lineup is very appealing. We cannot forget that we will have Travis Scott in Praia da Rocha. Hip-hop is booming all over the world and the Rolling Loud brand is very strong, it is the biggest hip-hop festival in the world”, said Tiago Castelo Branco, executive director of MOT, one of the partner companies in the event.

Rolling Loud, whose lineup this year includes more than 60 artists, shares organisation and venue with Afro Nation, an afrobeat music festival that last week brought together tens of thousands of people on the beach in Portimão, in the district of Faro.

“What we do is rebrand the entire venue, we redecorate and the party continues. It changes everything. It changes the decor and changes the customer”, stressed the person in charge.

The style of music and the line-up “meant, once again, a lot of people are coming from outside”, said Tiago Castelo Branco, after about 90% of the audience at Afro Nation were foreigners.

Even so, the second edition on Portuguese soil of Rolling Loud, a festival created in Miami, in the United States, “had a great demand from Portuguese people, unlike the first edition”, he pointed out.

“This year, we increased the rate of Portuguese, around 20 to 25% [of the total], but [the public] continues to be mostly foreign”, said the executive director of MOT, who preferred not to indicate the number of expected spectators.
