Currently, there are more than 21,000 applications related to the Residence Permit for Investment regime in the pre-analysis phase, of which 7,802 are “applications from foreign investor citizens” and 13,562 concern “applications from foreign citizens who intend to benefit from this regime through family reunification”, according to the data from the Foreigners and Borders Service (SEF) provided to Público.
Last month alone, 179 gold visas were granted, of which 114 were for real estate investment. Among the countries with the highest number of requests were the United States (47 visas), United Kingdom (26) and China (17), according to SEF. It should be noted that, in addition to these, 192 residence permits linked to reuniting family members.
The data provided also show that since the beginning of this regime, and until June of this year, 12,396 gold visas were granted, representing a total investment of 7,157 million euros.
China leads with 5,366 visas, followed by Brazil, with 1,229, and the USA, with 713.
