The most recent data from the Central Statistics Office (CSO) states the number of bus trips in Dublin increased by 9% for the week commencing June 26 compared to the same week in 2019. This followed the city's trend of bus trips exceeding pre-pandemic levels in June.

Due to the CSO, bus trips outside of Dublin increased by 11% in the week beginning June 26. When compared to the same week in 2022 and 2019, the number of Luas trips increased by 25% and 7%.

In line with today's CSO statistics, air traveller counts at Dublin, Cork, Knock, and Shannon airports overall increased by 15% and 1% in June compared to June 2022 and June 2019.

While there was no change compared to the same month in pre-pandemic 2019, the number of passengers at Dublin Airport in June was 14% higher than the same month in 2017. Dublin Airport handled 3,218,315 passengers in total in June of this year as opposed to 3,202,409 passengers in June of 2019.

The number of passengers handled by Cork Airport this month was 13% more than the data from June 2022, while it remained constant when compared to records from the same month in 2019. At Shannon Airport, there were 32% more travellers in June 2023 than there were in June 2022 and 10% more travellers than there were in June 2019.

According to today's CSO transport statistics, 11 people died on Irish roads in June of this year, compared to 13 in June 2022 and 11 in June 2019.
