During the same week, hake and salmon have increased by more than one euro per kilo, according to price monitoring by DECO Proteste.

"The prices of fresh hake and salmon increased by more than one euro between 12 and 19 July. These rises contributed to a new global increase in the price of the food basket, which cost, on 19 July, 215.71 euros", explains the consumer protection organization.

Between the 12th and the 19th of July, the products whose prices increased the most were fresh hake, liquid yogurt, whole grains, crustless bread and salmon.

"On July 19th, a kilogram of fresh hake, for example, cost 8.62 euros, 1.57 euros more than eight days before.
