Originato is a charming lunch café located along the serene Gilão River in the historic center of Tavira. With 14 tables indoors and 4 outside on the terrace, guests can relish a splendid view of the river and the passersby. Brunch Café Originato does not have a nameplate on the façade, but apparently, it does not need one, because at lunchtime everything is cosily full.

Opened in the summer of 2022, the café aims to be a cozy haven for the locals seeking a delightful spot for a cup of coffee, breakfast, or lunch.

Tourists and digital nomads are also welcomed to enjoy the warm ambiance and use the café as a pleasant workspace.

Stepping inside, you'll find an inviting atmosphere with dark walls and ceilings adorned with an impressive display of artwork from both local and international artists. The collaboration with the nearby Tavira d’Artes Art Gallery, ensures a blend of contemporary and traditional styles, adding a touch of cultural richness to the experience.

The menu offers a variety of delicious and healthy breakfast options, including avocado and salmon toast (€7) and a variety of healthy 'bowls' (€7.50).

For lunch, you can indulge in a delightful meal salad (€14), a scrumptious (vegan) hamburger (€14/15), or a delectable brunch (€18).

During our visit, the friendly server provided excellent menu recommendations. Her suggestion of the 'bowl' (15 euro) with rice, edamame, avocado, carrot, red cabbage, and teriyaki tofu was truly outstanding.

The only downside was the limited evening hours, as the café only operates during the daytime. It would undoubtedly be just as delightful in the evenings.

Originato successfully brings the essence of "coziness" to life, providing patrons with a feeling of warmth, comfort, and security. It's undoubtedly one of the coziest spots in Tavira, and I wholeheartedly recommend paying a visit. Whether you're a local seeking a pleasant café or a traveler looking for a taste of Tavira's charm, Originato won't disappoint.
