Silves Castle will close on Saturday at 4:30 pm, with the last entry at 4:00 pm and will reopen, as usual, on Sunday at 9:00 am.

The closure before the usual time (7:30 pm) is due to a private event.
Although Silves Castle is visited mainly by tourists, the municipality apologised “for the inconvenience and thanks residents for their understanding”.

And this closure is generating more tax base funds for the Silves Camara? Why is this museum/monument not free to residents as the many hundreds of others throughout the country...it is absolutely based on the location...Algarve hosts international visitors willing to put out a few euros here and there, meanwhile the locals residents will suffer for this when it is there's to begin with!
