According to Madalena Rodrigues, meteorologist at the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA), and reported by CNN Portugal, a gradual decrease of three to six degrees Celsius in the maximum temperature is expected between today and Friday. From Friday onwards, rain is expected in the North and Centre regions.

Values will remain above normal for the month of October, however, thermometers will drop to 24 degrees in the North and 29 in the Centre, according to IPMA.

In the south of the country, the decline will not be as sharp, with “drops of between two and four degrees Celsius” expected, with temperatures not exceeding 26 degrees.

This gradual drop in temperature "is due to several frontal undulations”, which anticipate the arrival of rain at the weekend.

For the month of October, IPMA predicts that it will continue to rain little in the South and more than would be expected in the North.
