According to data revealed by the Automotive Technical Analysis report published by the Portuguese Association of Insurers (APS), there were 8,527,194 insured vehicles, which led to total premium payments to insurers worth 1.966 billion euros, an average value per vehicle of 231 euros annually, 1% more than in 2021.

ECO reports that as for the costs of the 865,081 claims reported to companies last year, 10.9% more incidents than in the previous year, cost insurers 1.391 billion euros, which gave an average cost per claim of 1,609 euros. 2.2% more than a year before and 9% more than the average recorded in 2020, before the inflationary outbreak.
