According to Ana Abrunhosa, in total losses in municipal infrastructure of around 97 million euros were identified across the country, of which 48.7 million euros were in the Lisbon area, which amounts to support of around 22 million euros.

Ana Abrunhosa assured that the Government intends to transfer 60% of this amount to the municipalities as soon as the contracts are published in the Diário da República, taking into account that some of these municipalities have already carried out work and incurred expenses to replace damaged equipment.

The minister highlighted that, in addition to this municipal equipment and infrastructure, there were also losses in companies, whose support and advances had already been granted.

In these cases, the amount did not reach 700 thousand euros, “because most companies, small businesses and services had insurance or received support from local authorities”, and the value of this support was subtracted from the total loss.

Support contracts for infrastructure damaged by floods were approved in the municipalities of Almada and Seixal (Setúbal district), Amadora, Arruda dos Vinhos, Benavente, Lisbon, Loures, Odivelas, Oeiras, Sintra and Vila Franca de Xira (Lisbon district), and Mação, Rio Maior and Vila Nova da Barquinha (district of Santarém).
