The new digital tool, already accessible on the IOS and Android operating systems, presents content in Portuguese and English about the cultural events scheduled for the nine Azorean islands.

“Nowadays, selling tourism and selling a tourist destination is not selling a plane ticket or a hotel. It’s selling an experience”, said the Regional Secretary of Tourism, Mobility and Infrastructure.

Berta Cabral, who presided over the presentation of the platform in the auditorium of the Regional Secretariat for Tourism, Mobility and Infrastructure, in the city of Ponta Delgada, on the island of São Miguel, highlighted that the project, oriented towards tourism, aims to provide a tool to residents and visitors with information about the activities that the region “permanently has to offer”.

The minister recalled that the agenda project is part of the Azores Strategic and Marketing Plan, which was revised this year and is based on the objective of sustainability.

“Azores What's On” offers around 19 categories of events, from music to theater, sports to festivals, and gastronomy to education, among others.

“It is possible to discover, island by island, each of the initiatives that make the Azores a destination with personality and dynamism”.
