The authority indicated that the NRP Mondego finished monitoring "a freighter from the Russian Federation, the AORL KAMA", this morning. "The ship closely monitored the activity of the Russian vessel during its transit in waters under national jurisdiction".
The NRP Setúbal "has been monitoring, since yesterday, two ships from the Russian Federation, the submarine KILO II SSG-490 UFA and the Balk class tug ship the ATS SERGEY BALK", which also sail in Portugal's Exclusive Economic Zone Continental.
"Serving Portugal at sea, the Navy will continue to ensure that no harmful activities are carried out for the Country and to promote and protect Portugal's interests at and through the sea", concluded the statement.
