The UK received 38,177 awards (17%), France received 26,896 grants (12%), and Ireland received 21,525 grants (9.6%) of all Working Holiday Maker visas granted in 2022–2023, according to the Australian Migration Trends Report. These three countries accounted for 38.6% of all grants.

One of the nations with a significant rise in funds allowed between 2022 and 2023 and 2021 and 2022 was Ireland.

After the UK and France once more, they ranked third with 11,054 more awards, up 105.2% from 2021–2022.

In terms of percentage growth in grants allowed, Taiwan trailed Ireland by just 10,386 grants (2022–2022) compared to 5,142 grants (2021–2022).

In the past five years, as the housing and cost of living crises have gotten worse, so too has the number of young people moving to Australia in quest of a higher standard of living.
