In the last few hours, there have been some tree falls, due to the strong wind this morning, but no serious situation has occurred, according to the Algarve Regional Emergency and Civil Protection Command.
The National Emergency and Civil Protection Authority (ANEPC) revealed this morning that they had recorded, between 00:00 and 07:00 today, 22 incidents due to bad weather, 10 of which were in the Algarve and related to flooding on public roads.
The source in regional civil protection assured that there were no significant floods and assured that "everything is calm".
Mainland Portugal is today being affected by Depression Juan with heavy rain, according to the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA).
In addition to precipitation, there is also the possibility of "thunderstorms and strong gusts of wind".
The IPMA also predicts snowfall in the highest points of Serra da Estrela, “which is expected to accumulate above 1,400/1,600 metres in altitude, gradually lowering the level to 1,200/1,400 metres".
