In a statement, the PSP explains that of the 104 arrests for road crimes between February 5th and 11th, 56 were for driving under the influence of alcohol and 48 for lacking a legal license to drive.

45 people were also arrested on suspicion of drug trafficking and more than 15,000 individual doses were seized.

The PSP also detained 35 people for crimes against property and served 155 judicial arrest warrants.

In the same period, 39 firearms and 22 bladed weapons were seized, either as a precautionary measure or following the 13 arrests made for possession of prohibited weapons.

Since the beginning of the operation, the PSP has inspected, throughout the national territory and in its area of intervention, 9,225 drivers and controlled 43,639 vehicles by radar.

In total, 2,203 administrative offenses were recorded, of which 402 were for speeding, 76 for driving under the influence of alcohol, 208 for lack of mandatory periodic inspection, 74 for lack of insurance and 41 for using a cell phone while driving.

1,038 accidents were recorded, resulting in two fatalities, five serious injuries and 326 minor injuries.
