British travellers with red passports are being urged to check their passports before coming to Portugal to ensure that it meets entry rules.

According to VisaGuide.World, Portugal is one of 41 countries that apply the three-month passport validity rule which means that you can only enter the country if your passport has at least three more months. This is added to rules that came in after Brexit which means that your passport must be less than 10 years old on the day of your arrival in the EU and must also have at least three months left on the day you leave.

Portugal joins countries such as France, Italy, Poland and Spain that applies the three-month passport rule.
