Carlos Pinto de Sá, Évora’s Mayor has announced that the project, which includes a stadium and a gym, is the result of projects promoted by a club and a football association, and will be financed by the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF), the multinational Lidl and Evóra’s municipality itself.

The first project is being conducted by the Évora Football Association (AFE) with the help of the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF). According to António Pereira, the president of AFE, the project includes the construction of a sports pavilion, one beach football pitch, and one synthetic turf football pitch, which totals an investment of €600 thousand. According to Carlos Pinto de Sá the different spaces “will form a single sports complex”, as “there will even be common areas, such as parking”, plus “some common infrastructure, such as rainwater.”

The other project will be developed on 20,998 square feet and will include the construction of a new stadium for Juventude Sport Clube that can hold up to 3000 spectators. Évora City Council has announced that the club will shortly begin the construction of the stadium. In 2022, Juventude’s president told Lusa, that the multinational Lidl will finance the project, which includes the stadium, a football pitch, and an extra support building, and in return, Lidl will have permission to build a supermarket in the same area.

Évora’s Chamber will oversee 80 percent of the gym's usable time, freeing up time for other people to engage in sports, as AFE only needs 20 percent of the time. The portion of the investment that is not covered by Lidl, in the words of the president, "will come from the municipal budget, since there will be no other" available. As Pinto de Sá stated, "The project is being prepared" but he did not provide a start date for the work at this time.
