On 1 March, Spy Manor Real Estate orchestrated an "Art and Aperitivo Charity Night,” with the Rotary Club Vilamoura International at the futuristic Sky Base One property in the Algarve, Portugal.
A spaceship-inspired property has become once again a space for an artistic expression following the project's launch in October 2023. This time, they leverage this exclusive venue to showcase the diverse artistic talents residing in the Algarve, transcending borders and nationalities, as “in the realm of art, we are all united” quotes Vanda Everke, CEO of Spy Manor Real Estate. This exclusive soirée, dedicated to promoting local artists, harmoniously blended luxury, creativity and innovation.
Set against the backdrop of Sky Base One, a selection of esteemed guests gathered for a night of cultural fun. The event unveiled a captivating pop-up art gallery, showcasing the work of ten local artists: Meinke Flesseman, inspired by the Algarve, paints aquatic scenes and nature, alongside renowned ceramic work; Leila Chouikha, who expresses abstract art with dynamic lines, vivid colours, and a philosophy of inner freedom; Soraia Oliveira who has been exploring the fragility of existence through self-portraiture and diverse mediums; Francis Gaudichet, who draws from global experiences, and delves into painting and mural decoration; David Santos who blends interior design with aviation, transforming aircraft parts into unique art pieces; Accent Colour Canvases by Cara Dymond, with custom-made canvases complementing interior palettes; Berdíssimo Modern Art and Jewellery with their colourful collections inspired by the vibrant Algarve; Ricardo Lopes who captivates narratives through photography and videography; and Jo James, who paints acrylic scenes inspired by the beauty of the Algarve's landscapes.
Attendees were treated to sundown drinks and live musical performances, from Althea Browne and DJ Mark James cultivating a tranquil atmosphere of refinement, but the highlight of the evening unfolded during the silent art auction, where enthusiasts eagerly contended for the opportunity to acquire the artworks generously contributed by the featured artists, and guests were granted the opportunity to make donations for the Bom Samaritano Children’s Home, a local charity in Alvor with the mission of providing comfort and recreation for at-risk children, emphasising sibling preservation. The children's home organizes day trips as an integral part of promoting mental health among its residents but relies solely on donations to do this. “Bom Samaritano is a private, non-profit social institution for children and young individuals, that provides them with basic needs, in living conditions as close as possible to those of a normal family.” States Fátima Guerreiro, President of the Rotary Club Vilamoura International.
"At Spy Manor, we are excited to use this exclusive location to expose the various artistic talents residing in the Algarve, regardless of their nationality or country of origin”, affirmed Vanda Everke, CEO of Spy Manor Real Estate. “In these troubling times around the world, we firmly believe that art has the potential to bring unity into our hearts. I think that art genuinely while always being personal, has a universal appeal. Staying authentic and local and at the same time being understood internationally - is what we all strive to achieve these days. How not to lose your own identity and at the same time embrace the versatility of the modern world - those are the great questions where art, I believe, can play a vital role in finding the answers to."
The event, by invitation only, adhered to a cocktail dress code, infusing the ambience with an aura of elegance and refinement. The revelation of Sky Base One's location took place shortly before the event which led to an element of intrigue and exclusivity, enhancing the anticipation and excitement of the occasion.
Spy Manor would like to extend profound appreciation to the local artists for their creative contributions, and to Veneza Restaurante e Garrafeira and Conserveira to Arade for generously sponsoring the event with a fine selection of wine and food, to the attendees for their generosity in the form of donations, to the beneficiary charity for their invaluable efforts, and to videographer Ricardo Lopes from RL Media, and photographer Philip Houtekier. Together, we continue to enrich the Algarve community with a blend of sophistication, innovation, and compassion.
