INIT, which presently employs 25 people, established its first software development facility outside of Germany in 2018 and launched its first office in Ireland.
With room for up to 60 people starting today, the office capacity has doubled, and INIT is searching for more cloud software developers to support its continued rapid expansion.
IDA Ireland provides support for the company's operations in this area.
Transport companies and government agencies from places like Honolulu, San Diego, Los Angeles, Seattle, Atlanta, Nottingham, Hamburg, and New Zealand are among its clients.
INIT had close links to Ireland prior to its establishment in Dublin, having worked with Dublin Bus. In 2010, the company launched the region's first fleet management and real-time passenger information platform.
In a little more than five years, the company's Irish subsidiary has outperformed expectations, according to INIT COO Matthias Kühn.
“We interpret this as evidence that Maynooth is the ideal location for us to continue refining our cutting-edge public transit solutions. The future prosperity of INIT will be paved with the addition of twice as many employees and more than twice as many offices throughout Ireland,” he stated.
The announcement by INIT to expand to a Maynooth office employing up to sixty people is fantastic news for the area and Ireland's technology industry, according to Michael Lohan, CEO of IDA Ireland.
“IDA takes great pride in Ireland's standing as a technological centre. This growth is evidence of the talent and expertise that businesses can find in Ireland, particularly in Maynooth,” said Mr. Lohan.
Since INIT's founding in Ireland in 2018, the firm has been delivering essential IT solutions for public transport, and Minister of Enterprise, Trade, and Employment Peter Burke said it is wonderful to see them continuing to expand and prosper in Kildare.
“The growth will offer excellent job prospects in the IT industry. Fantastic news for INIT, Kildare, and the surrounding area! I hope they have the utmost success with their new venture,” he continued.
