According to INE, the two segments that make up the index registered year-on-year growth in March, but slowed down compared to the previous month.
The civil engineering segment had a year-on-year variation of 4.2% in March, against 6.0% in February, while building construction grew 2.3% year-on-year, compared to 3.8% in the previous month.
In terms of contributions to the year-on-year rate of change of the index, civil engineering represented 1.6 percentage points (2.3 in February) and building construction 1.4 percentage points (2.3 in February).
In terms of chain variation, the construction production index fell 0.5%, as a result of declines of 0.7% in building construction and 0.2% in civil engineering.
In March, the employment index in year-on-year terms slowed by 0.4 percentage points, to a growth of 2.6%, while wages increased by 9.2%, against 10.9% in February.
The monthly change in employment was 0.3% (0.7% in March 2023), while that in wages stood at 5.0% (6.6% in the same month of 2023).
