The unemployment rate fell to 6.3% in April, 0.3 percentage points less than in the same period last year and 0.1 less compared to the previous month, according to estimates by the National Institute of Statistics (INE).

In April, the unemployment rate reached the lowest value since August 2023 (also 6.3%).
According to INE, the active population (5,342.1 thousand) in April increased compared to the same period last year (1.2%) and decreased compared to the previous month (0.5%).
