According to the “Housing Statistical Summary” of the Association of Civil Construction and Public Works Industries (AICCOPN), at the level of municipal licensing, until the end of March, the number of licensed dwellings in new constructions registered “a significant decrease” of 23.1% compared to the same period last year, going from 9,033 dwellings in the first quarter of 2023 to 6,942 dwellings in the quarter under analysis.

In turn, there was a year-on-year reduction of 14.5% in the total number of licenses issued for new construction or rehabilitation work on residential buildings.

In the first quarter of 2024, AICCOPN data indicate that cement consumption in the national market registered a year-on-year increase of 2.1%, which reflects “a significant slowdown” compared to the 13.4% recorded until February.
