Following an alert by a citizen, who found the bird weak on agricultural land, in the locality of Panoias de Cima, in the municipality of Guarda, SEPNA went to the site and rescued it.

Following the rescue the buzzard was transported to the Center for Ecology, Recovery and Surveillance of Wild Animals (CERVAS) in Gouveia, for recovery and subsequent release into its natural habitat.
