When analysing "express rentals" in Portugal - that is, houses for rent that are advertised on idealista for less than a day -, the analysis concludes that houses with rents that are more accessible to families' pockets tend to be rented faster. Data shows that 25% of rented houses priced below 750 euros/month left the market in less than a day.

This percentage of express rentals decreases as the rent range increases. In other words, the higher the rental value, the longer the house takes to be rented. This is because only 19% of houses with rents between 750 and 1,000 euros/month were rented for less than a day. Only 11% of homes priced between 1,000 and 1,500 euros/month left the market in less than 24 hours. And only 7% of houses costing more than 1,500 euros/month were rented this quickly.

Analysing the six district capitals with the highest supply of houses for rent in the first quarter of 2024, Setúbal was the city where the percentage of houses rented in less than 24 hours was highest, reaching 32% of total operations. Next are Funchal (26%), Faro (20%), Porto (14%), Aveiro (13%) and Lisbon (11%).
