According to a report by Ekonomista, these are the five beaches in the Algarve with the warmest water.
Ancão Beach, Loulé
Located in the Ria Formosa Natural Park, Praia do Ancão stands out for its extensive sandy beach and vast dunes. It has ample parking, beach support services, and surveillance during the bathing season. Access is easy from Almancil, towards Garrão/Ancão, following a 7-kilometre paved road.
Barreta, Faro
The municipality of Faro covers the Ancão peninsula and the Barreta (Deserta) and Culatra Islands. The beaches on Ilha Deserta offer waters with very pleasant temperatures. During the bathing season, support and surveillance equipment is available. Access is by boat from Faro (Pier da Porta Nova), with ample parking nearby.
Fuseta Beach, Olhão
In the municipality of Olhão, located in the heart of the Ria Formosa Natural Park, we find five beaches. Fuseta Beach, located in the west of Armona Island, in front of the town of Fuseta, stands out for its extensive desert sand and natural pools formed during low tide. During the bathing season, it has beach support and surveillance services. Access to this beach, one of the hottest in the Algarve, is by boat from Cais da Fuseta, which offers ample parking nearby.
Cabanas, Tavira
The coastline of the municipality of Tavira is characterised by beaches with fine sand and warm waters. Cabanas Beach is located in front of the village with the same name, offering support and surveillance services during the bathing season. Cabanas is known for its gastronomy, where it is possible to taste delicacies such as oysters, clams, octopus, or grilled fish. Access is by boat from the pier on the Cabanas waterfront, with ample parking available.
Cacela Velha, Vila Real de Santo António
Cacela Velha Beach is located at the eastern end of Cabanas Island, close to Cacela Bar. In 2015, according to Ekonomista, it was considered one of the 15 best beaches in the world by the Spanish version of “Traveler” magazine. This beach, however, lacks support and surveillance during the bathing season. Access is by boat from the Sítio da Fábrica pier, approximately 1.5 kilometres from Cacela Velha, with parking available close to the boarding point.
