The price of a litre of diesel is expected to fall by 2.5 cents, while the price of simple 95 petrol is expected to fall by 2.0 cents per litre.

According to the General Directorate of Energy and Geology (DGEG), the average price of a litre of Portugal in Portugal last Thursday (June 11) was 1,752 euros while diesel cost 1,605 euros.

If these predictions are confirmed, and taking into account that each station can set the price it sees fit, the average price of simple diesel should be set at €1,580/l while that of simple 95 petrol should be at €1,732/l.

The ACP emphasises that "these forecasts are made based on the assumption of maintenance of the extraordinary tax reduction measures applied by the government, to mitigate the increase in prices."
