According to monitoring carried out by DECO PROTeste, with this drop of 0.02% the basket of 63 foodstuffs cost 228.06 euros, between the 10th and 17th of July.

The consumer association points out, however, that a year ago consumers spent 11.20 euros less. "However, compared to the first week of the year, this basket of essential goods has already seen its price fall by 7.98 euros (down 3.38 percent). But, despite the price of the food basket being on a downward trend since the beginning of the year, there are products that continue to register significant increases", warn experts.

DECO PROTeste indicates that in terms of significant increases, the Gala apple is a good example, given that since the first week of January the price per kilo has increased by 48 cents (plus 22%) to 2.65 euros.

In the last period analysed, experts report that it was fibre cereals that became more expensive, costing 72 cents more (22%) more than the previous week.

Frankfurt sausages have also become more expensive, around 12%, now costing 20 cents more. Extra virgin olive oil, a widely used product, increased by almost one euro. According to the analysis, this product increased by 10%, having cost an additional 91 cents the previous week.
