Located in Loulé, the Casa Energy Concept was founded by Marc Tissot, with the aim of reducing carbon footprint and energy consumption by providing an alternative which utilises a prominent resource of the Algarve: sunny weather.

Marc Tissot is an engineer in renewable energy, with over 30 years of experience in Switzerland and more than 100 projects sold and implemented in the sector, who strives "to provide customers with the best energy solutions for their needs”, he told The Portugal News.

Casa Energy Concept specialises in energy systems for homes, businesses and communities, working with the best suppliers of equipment and technology to guarantee the quality and efficiency of the installations. Services range from advice and simulations of energy saving to the planning and installation of solar, heating or air conditioning systems.

Inclusivity

“The idea for the company was born when I moved to the Algarve, once I experienced the climate”, Marc stated. “So, I began researching to find energy solutions suitable for the region, not only for big projects but also portable solar systems.”

“That’s when I discovered the Ecoflow brand, which aligned with my vision straight away. Then I secured a space to display the systems, for people to be able to see them in action and have readily available stock”, he recounted.

Casa Energy Concept aims to help people be aware of their options, with inclusive and flexible solutions such as battery systems, which provide and store energy through portable solar panels that can be installed on balconies, caravans or boats. Marc Tissot is the official distributor of the Ecoflow brand in the Algarve.

Since 2015, with the entry into force of Decree-Law No. 153/2014, and Ordinances No. 14/2015 and No. 15/25, the Portuguese are allowed to consume electrical energy produced in their homes/businesses through the installation of electricity production systems intended for self-consumption and purchase electricity grids from renewable resources through Small Production.

In 2022, the VAT applicable to the installation of solar panels in Portugal was reduced from 23 percent to 6 percent. A photovoltaic kit consisting of 1 photovoltaic panel produces around 375kWh of electrical energy annually. Considering the current cost of energy, (including Excise Tax and VAT, values that the producer will reduce), the return on investment for this type of kit is obtained during the fifth year. These kits power between 250W and 1500W and are not required to be registered, with no additional fees to the competent authorities.

Casa Energy Concept provides air conditioning units as well, which usually are not considered to be as environmentally friendly, but Marc’s products use an air-to-air pump that extracts 80 percent of their energy output from a renewable source: ambient air.

In addition to these, they also have heat pumps available for purchase. This system features a metal pipe that extends a few metres underground and carries water within. The temperature in the Earth’s interior remains constant throughout the year, which is used to heat up the water during the winter and cool it down in the summer, regulating the temperature inside the house.

Personalised Service

“I don’t want to just be the seller, I enjoy being a part of the process, from the analysis of your energy consumption and saving potential to the mounting possibilities and installations on-site”, Marc emphasised. “The goal is to make solar energy more accessible, as an eco-friendly alternative, these are tools to help people become more self-sufficient, long-term”.

Casa Energy Concept provides one contact for all energy solutions, adapting to your needs, within your budget. “Our full project management sets us apart, you have one place to go, one person to call, for every step, even for follow-up services.”

“Electricity consumption profile analysis can be used to identify energy saving opportunities, improve efficiency and reduce costs”, he explained, “I do a simulation, free of charge, to determine personalised solutions for each individual.”

The company provides constant monitoring at all stages of the process, from sizing to system implementation and maintenance. After the planning phase of the project, your energy solution will be designed. Following the installation, they will be there for you, as it is necessary to keep the energy solution operational. If necessary, they can also provide preventative and corrective maintenance to ensure the safety and efficiency of the implemented system.

“Customer service is our mandatory”, Marc assured. “With a focus on sustainability, we want to spread awareness about this alternative, there’s a lot of potential here.”

To acquire the services of Marc Tissot, you don’t even have to be a client of Ecoflow. As a certified consultant in the field of renewable energy, he can help you change energy providers whenever necessary. “Of services available at home, electricity is the most important in families’ monthly budget. That’s why it’s important to choose the best tariff to reduce energy costs as much as possible. I can help you, in the liberalised energy market in Portugal, to choose the best supplier.”

The Algarve, in Portugal, with more than 3,000 hours of sunshine per year, is one of the best locations in Europe to produce your own energy.
