“At this moment [2:30 pm], the fire is active, but giving way to resources, with 114 operatives on-site, supported by 13 land resources and one air resource”, the operations commander of the Lisbon Sub-Regional Command, Pedro Dias, told Lusa.

According to the commander, the fire, which was reported at 1:16 pm, is burning in a bush area, and there are no homes at risk.

“[The fight is progressing] favorably, within a short time we hope to have it under control”, the official added.
