According to Minister António Leitão Amaro, 120 of these vehicles will be for the firefighters and the rest for the National Institute of Medical Emergencies (INEM).
“This valorisation of emergency medical work resources in Portugal is very important. It is true that there were promises and resolutions that were only made on paper in the past, but they were never implemented. Now, with this resolution of the Council of Ministers that reprograms expenditure, which represents around 19 million euros, we are making the acquisition of these 320 emergency medical vehicles viable”, said the Minister of the Presidency.
