"The unemployment rate stood at 6.2%, a value lower than that of the previous month and three months earlier (0.2 percentage points in both) and the same as a year earlier", says the INE in its "Monthly Employment and Unemployment Estimates".
According to the statistics institute, in July, the unemployed population (331.8 thousand) "decreased in relation to the three comparison periods: 3.7%, 4.6%, and 0.6%, respectively".
The INE also released the definitive employment and unemployment estimates for the month of June, having revised the unemployment rate for that month downwards to 6.4% (6.7% in the provisional estimates), the same value as in May, 0.1 percentage points lower than in March 2024 and 0.1 percentage points higher than in June 2023.
