A source from the Ave Sub-Regional Command said that the fires in Vieira do Minho and Cabeceiras de Basto have not yet been contained, but are evolving favourably.

In Vieira do Minho, the fire, which broke out around 3:50 pm on Wednesday, is being fought by 86 operatives, assisted by 24 land resources and one air resource.

In the municipality of Cabeceiras de Basto, at the same time, around 08:30, the fire remained active but did not cause any major concerns, according to the same source.

There were 49 firefighters, 12 land vehicles, and two air vehicles on the ground.

In the district of Viseu, in Cinfães, the fire that broke out in a scrubland area at 02:25 today is also progressing positively, according to information provided by the Tâmega e Sousa Sub-Regional Command.

To combat this fire, in the parish of Moimenta, municipality of Cinfães, two air vehicles were called in to support the 61 firefighters and 15 land vehicles.

“It was necessary to resort to air vehicles due to the difficulties in accessing land,” said the source.
