The municipal council has declared that the newly constructed Moura Volunteer Firefighters' School Centre, located in Beja’s district, has opened on 13 September following an expenditure of more than 3.7 million euros. The center, which focuses on pre-schooling and primary schooling will have a library, a laboratory, multipurpose rooms, covered and uncovered spaces, and a teaching garden, among other features.

The centre, which focuses on preschool and primary education, is a component of the "first phase of the city's school network renewal plan" and "represents an investment of over 3.7 million euros," according to a statement from the municipality. As the mayor Álvaro Azedo shared, “It has a different offering that other schools didn’t have. It’s a new world, what’s happening in Moura”.

As per the mayor, the recently acquired equipment is a component of a "massive project" in Moura to "renovate the school network," which seeks to update and modernise the city's school park. As Álvaro Azevedo emphasised “Times have changed. Today, children and parents are looking for the school that offers them the best possible education. And a particular school is no longer limited to the children of that neighbourhood or area of the city”.

According to the municipality, the project secured European co-financing "of 85% of the eligible value, equivalent to around 2 million euros," with "the remaining amount" coming from their end. “We provide the best conditions that a public school can offer and this public school that we are serving, in the municipality of Moura, is the public school that dignifies the work of teachers, the learning of our children and the importance that families give to the safety and work that is done with their children”, the mayor highlighted.
