The Pinnacles, part of the largest wind-blown limestone belt that stretches over 600 miles, are shedding light on Earth’s ancient climate and evolving landscape through the analysis of iron-rich nuggets discovered within.

A new study published in the journal Science Advances revealed that these nuggets were formed approximately 100,000 years ago during the wettest period the region has experienced in the last half-million years, contrasting sharply with the Mediterranean climate of Western Australia.
