Over the past few months, the Group has been diligently working on a project to transform Bright International School, ensuring the facilities align with the innovative, dynamic learning environments present in all Sharing Education Group schools. These new classrooms and working spaces, focused on inquiry-based and student-led learning, reflect a modern approach that places students at the heart of their education.
Miguel Ladeira Santos, CEO of the Sharing Education Group, shares his enthusiasm for the upcoming changes: “We’re thrilled to begin this exciting renovation and transformation at Bright. The new state-of-the-art learning spaces for our Lower Secondary students will embody the excellence and quality we deliver in education, ensuring a stimulating environment that encourages collaboration and creativity.”
The refurbishing of the Lower Secondary learning spaces, which cater to students in Years 7, 8, and 9, is set to begin this December, with completion scheduled for January 2025. This means that when students return for Term 2, they will be welcomed into completely refreshed and modernised learning environments. These new spaces will not only enhance the educational experience but also set the stage for the exciting changes planned for the future. “It’s been wonderful to see the passion and excitement shared by our students, teachers and parents,” Miguel added. “We’re all eagerly anticipating the start of these works, and there’s a real buzz around the school as we get closer to the launch. Our custom furniture designed in Denmark by Rosan Bosch Studio is already in production by Portuguese carpenters, and will be arriving at the school in early December.”
The transformation of the Lower Secondary learning spaces marks the first step in a broader vision for Bright International School – Algarve. Following the completion of this phase, the school plans to continue working on refurbishing other areas, including their new buildings and outdoor areas. Works should be completed by September 2025, in time for the opening of the IGCSE programme in Year 10, further expanding the school’s academic offerings.
This large-scale renovation is set to redefine the educational landscape in the Algarve, creating a unique learning environment that not only reflects the ethos of the Sharing Education Group but also positions Bright International School as a leader in innovative education. With the excitement building, the school community looks forward to a future where students thrive in cutting-edge inspiring spaces, ready to meet any challenge the future holds.
