Ikea, in August, announced the test launch of the “Ikea Preowned” platform in Spain and Norway. Ana Barbosa, head of sustainability at Ikea Portugal, states that the company has the ambition to launch the platform in Portugal by August next year.

“We also want to launch it in Portugal very soon, we want it to be as quick as possible. We want it to be this fiscal year, that is, from September to August”, said the company's sustainability manager in a report by ECO.

The platform follows the format of other companies on the market such as eBay or Olx, but is exclusively for Ikea customers to resell their used furniture to other customers of the brand.

According to the company, the seller can choose to receive the money by bank transfer or through a voucher to spend at an Ikea store.
