According to sector sources reported by ECO, petrol should fall by 2.5 cents and the price of diesel, the most used fuel in Portugal, is expected to remain unchanged.

Next week motorists are expected to pay €1,690 per litre of regular 95 petrol and €1,601 per litre of regular diesel, taking into account the average values ​​practiced at the pumps on Monday, published by the Directorate-General of Energy and Geology (DGEG).

These values ​​already take into account the discounts applied by gas stations and the review of temporary tax measures to help mitigate the increase in fuel prices.

Prices may still change to take into account the closing of Friday's Brent oil prices and the behavior of the foreign exchange market. But also because the final prices result from the average of the prices charged by all gas stations. Furthermore, the prices charged to the end consumer may vary depending on the station.

This week, both diesel and petrol prices rose two cents, a different behaviour in relation to market expectations that pointed to an increase of 2.5 cents in diesel and one cent in gasoline.
