ANA Aeroportos de Portugal informs that, due to the strike called by some unions of ground handling companies (handling agents) on the 22nd, 23rd, 24th, 25th, 26th, 31st of December and 1st of January, at the airports of Lisbon, Porto Faro, Funchal and Porto Santo there may be some constraints”.

The airport manager therefore advised passengers with trips scheduled for these dates to confirm their flight status with the airline or travel agency.

The Metallurgical and Related Industries Union (SIMA) reaffirmed the strike by workers at Menzies Portugal (formerly Groundforce) between December 22nd and 26th, after a meeting with company directors without a response to the demands.

The strike lasts for two hours when entering and/or leaving shifts between midnight on the 22nd and midnight on the 26th of December.

The strike called by the unions covers all overtime, starting at midnight on December 24, 2024 and until midnight on January 1, 2025.

It will also occur from 00:00 on December 24, 2024 until 24:00 on the same day and from 00:00 on December 31st until 24:00 on the last day of the year.

The stoppage will also cover work on holidays that are normal working days, from December 24th to January 2nd, 2025.
