100% of the Azores’ Guaranteed Minimum Monthly Wage will now be provided to young people, enrolled in level IV professional courses, who choose to complete their integrated curricular internship on an island other than their home island. The regional secretary for Youth, Housing, and Employment, Maria João Carreiro, announced that these youngsters will now receive 100% support instead of 90%, which is currently 861 euros.

However, under the rules that are still in effect, students enrolled in level IV courses in their first and second years - not simply those in their third year - will also be permitted to complete their internship on another island in the region as part of the "Nemésio Pro" subprogram.

According to a news release from the Azorean executive (PSD/CDS-PP/PPM), there is also the option to provide internship supervisors/coordinators with up to two journeys to the islands where internship activities are conducted to facilitate efficient pedagogical monitoring. As Maria João Carreiro explained, “We want to make this innovative program in the Azores an opportunity for young people to develop a greater understanding of the region's reality and embrace the possibilities that exist and that can be created on each of the nine islands”.

Maria João Carreiro also congratulated the young individuals who have finished the Events, Automation, and Computers Technician, Marketing Technician, and Event Organisation Technician courses on “completing an important stage” that prepared them for the qualified performance of a profession or to pursue higher education, setting an example for other young people.
