The Municipality of Silves has stated that during the period between 10 am on the 15th and 4 pm on the 16th of January, Águas do Algarve plans to carry out an intervention which will result in the shutdown of the Alcantarilha WTP, leaving the public water supply dependent exclusively on the existing reserves.

Because of this, the effected population is asked to reduce, as much as possible, their water consumption from the public network during the period in which the works are carried out.
