"It seems to us that it is an important project and, from what we know, the Government has also signalled it as a priority project in terms of mobility in the Lisbon Metropolitan Area", said the vice-president of the Lisbon City Council, Filipe Anacoreta Correia ( CDS-PP), referring to the creation of a bus lane on the A5.
The CDS-PP mayor was speaking at the Lisbon Municipal Assembly meeting, during question time to the council, after being questioned by the Liberal Initiative (IL) deputy Rodrigo Mello Gonçalves about the position of the capital's municipal executive regarding the creation of a 'bus' corridor on the A5.
Anacoreta Correia said that this project presupposes negotiation by the Government, led by PSD/CDS-PP, with the A5 concessionaire, Brisa.
"But it is, in fact, a project of great importance and it seems to us that it would be very important to have alternatives for people to enter the city and, in this way, also contribute to improving the city's mobility", he explained, highlighting the investment of municipal executive in public transport, especially in the municipal company Carris.
PEV municipal deputy Cláudia Madeira asked when the special service for people with reduced mobility will be integrated into the Navegante public transport pass, to which Anacoreta Correia clarified that "it will be available from January 20th".
