The Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA) has issued a yellow warning for the districts of Porto, Aveiro, Viana do Castelo and Braga between 6 pm on Friday and midnight on Saturday due to rain.

The IPMA also issued a yellow warning for the districts of Lisbon and Leiria due to rough seas between 6pm on Friday and 6pm on Saturday.

Also due to the state of the sea, the districts of Porto, Viana do Castelo, Faro, Setúbal, Beja, Aveiro, Coimbra and Braga will be in yellow between 6 pm on Friday and 6 pm on Saturday.

The forecast indicates northwest waves of four to five metres.

The north coast of Madeira Island and Porto Santo are also under a yellow warning until 3:00 pm today due to rough seas, with waves expected from the west/northwest measuring four to five meters.

The IPMA has also placed the western group (Flores and Corvo) under yellow warning due to the swell between 18:00 today (19:00 in Lisbon) and 00:00 on Friday (01:00 in Lisbon).
