According to the ordinance that regulates this program, published in the Official Gazette of the Union, of the €30 million, €15 million is non-refundable and the other half is reimbursable.
The budget allocation “may be increased, using exclusively Turismo de Portugal’s own funds and depending on the needs that may be recorded during the use of this line of financial support”, says the diploma, signed by the Secretary of State for Tourism, Pedro Machado.
“The maximum limit of support, on a non-refundable basis, is 400 thousand euros per project or, in the case of a joint application, per entity, with the exception of cases in which the beneficiary entity is a company, in which case the maximum value of support, on a non-refundable basis, is 200 thousand euros”.
Beneficiary entities include “public entities, including those in whose management central, regional and local government entities have a dominant position”, as well as “non-profit private entities, namely those whose mission is the development of territories and local communities”.
Also “national entities of the social economy that are private social solidarity institutions or similar non-profit entities, in operation for more than three years”, and micro, small or medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), as long as they are integrated into social innovation projects, can apply for support under this program.
