At the University of Zurich, researchers are using new technology to reduce the number of animals that are tested in drug development.

Instead of using new substances individually on mice, the method allows for 25 antibodies to be tested simultaneously in a single mouse.
This speeds up the development process, minimising the number of animals required, and paves the way for other countries to follow by example.
