The referee from the Lisbon association made history in the men’s top division, receiving applause from the crowd and a tribute from the two clubs and the Portuguese Professional Football League, before the initial whistle.

Catarina Campos, 39, had already been the first to head an all-female refereeing team in Portuguese professional competitions, when she oversaw Paços de Ferreira's defeat at home to Feirense (1-2), on February 15, in the 22nd round of the II League.

As in the game in February, the referee was accompanied by assistants Andreia Sousa and Vanessa Gomes, with Fábio Veríssimo as the fourth official, while the video referee (VAR) duties were performed by André Narciso, assisted by Nuno Pires.

An international since 2018, Catarina Campos has been part of the UEFA elite category for about a year and a half and has had other recent experiences in men's football, having refereed games in the Campeonato de Portugal, the fourth national tier, and in the Liga Revelação, both under the supervision of the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF), in addition to official international matches, including one this season in the UEFA Youth League.
