Madeira Airport is the fourth in Portugal to receive flights from the airline, after Lisbon, Porto and Faro. The Funchal – Brussels route is weekly and Madeira becomes the 71st destination for Brussels Airlines, part of the Lufthansa Group, according to Publituris.
Karen Strougo, Commercial Director of ANA | VINCI Airports highlighted, on the occasion, that “with this new regular connection to Brussels, Madeira welcomes another company from the Lufthansa Group, reinforcing its presence in this destination”, to underline that this operation is a recognition of the region’s potential and the ongoing work of the ANA | VINCI Airports in developing routes, creating new opportunities for passengers and supporting the economic growth of the archipelago.”
Jan Derycke, Director of Network and Planning at Brussels Airlines, highlights that “with a significant increase in capacity planned for summer 2025, Brussels Airlines is focusing strongly on Portugal and Spain, both through network expansion and an increase in frequencies on existing routes.”
