According to the IPMA, the districts of Bragança, Guarda, Castelo Branco, Portalegre, Évora, and Beja will be under an orange warning until 6 pm on Thursday. In the districts of Vila Real, Viseu, Santarém, Lisbon, Setúbal, and Faro, the orange warning will change to yellow at 6 pm today.

Also under an orange warning, due to "persistent very high temperatures," are the mountainous regions of Madeira, until 6 p.m. on Wednesday.

The districts of Viana do Castelo, Braga, and Porto are under the yellow warning, the least severe on a scale of three, until 6 pm Thursday, and the districts of Aveiro, Coimbra, and Leiria are under the yellow warning until 6 pm today.

The southern coast of Madeira is also under a yellow warning, due to persistent hot weather, until 6 pm Wednesday.

The government renewed the alert status in the country until Wednesday, August 13, due to the risk of forest fires.

The IPMA (National Institute of Maternity and Rehabilitation of Municipalities) forecasts continued hot weather today, with partly cloudy skies and dusty air, with the possibility of showers and thunderstorms, especially inland.

A slight increase in minimum temperatures and a slight increase in maximum temperatures are also forecast for the north and central coasts.

Minimum temperatures will range from 16°C (16°C) in Leiria and Viana do Castelo to 29°C (29°C) in Portalegre, and maximum temperatures will range from 27°C (27°C) in Viana do Castelo to 44°C (29°C) in Beja.
