According to data from the Bank of Portugal, the amount sent by Portuguese emigrants in the first six months of this year was only 0.14% higher than the 2.101 billion sent in the first half of last year.

Conversely, foreigners working in Portugal sent 8.56% more, compared to the 417.16 million euros sent in the same period in 2024.

Regarding Portuguese-speaking African Countries (PALOP), Portuguese nationals living there sent 134.62 million euros to Portugal, a 4.53% increase compared to the 128.78 million euros sent in the same period last year.

Conversely, Portuguese-speaking Africans working in Portugal sent 57.73 million euros in the same period, a 20.5% increase compared to the 47.89 million euros sent in the first half of last year.
